Driving Directions:

From I-5 North: Take I-5 to I-205. Follow north to Clackamas Estacada exit/Hwy 212. Follow Hwy 212 through Damascus and Boring. Follow signs to Sandy/Mt. Hood Hwy 26 East. Take 26 to Government Camp.

From I-5 South: Take I-5 to I205 South. Follow to I-84 East. Take Wood Village/Gresham exit (16A). Follow signs to Hwy 26. Take 26 to Government Camp.

From I-84: Take I-84 east to exit 16A (Wood Village/Gresham). Follow signs to Hwy 26. Take 26 east to Government Camp. Handicap parking is located in front of the lodge.

Dog River, Near Hood River OR – Driving Directions & Lodging

Fluidride Enduro DH #1 Dog River

Directions -

Here are directions to Dog River Trail head at MP 78 on Hwy 35 in Oregon.

From hwy 84 near Hood River, OR

Take EXIT 64 toward OR-35

Stay onto OR-35. go 19.2 mi

Take left at Dog River Trail Head. It’s a small parking area on the left side of Hwy 35.

You will see a the trail head on the side of the road (bottom of the trail). We’ll be there on Friday all day with signage to the top for self shuttle, and will provide shuttles for racers on Saturday and Sunday.

Shuttle Directions: Continue approximately 7.1 miles on Hwy 35 past Dog River Trail Head. Take Left on Forest Service Road 44 (FS 44) and continue to the top of the hill (approx 3.5 miles). Look for the trail head on the left – Signage says “Surveyors Ridge/Dog River Trail Head”. Ride the Dog River trail to HWY 35 at the bottom of the trail. We will likely start the race after the first  (and only) major climb, making the each run about 15 minutes in length.

From Portland

Take US Hwy 26 for 63 miles to Hwy 35.

Merge on to Hwy 35 (right)  towards Hood River for about 20.5 miles

Take right at MP 78 at Dog River Trail Head.

If you want to go straight to the top from Portland, go 13.4 miles on Hwy 35, and look for FS 44 on your right. Go up FS 44 to Surveyors Ridge/Dog River Trail Head.  The end of the trail (bottom trail head is 7.1 miles past FS 44 on Hwy 35 on the right side of the road)

Shuttle Directions from bottom of trail head: From the Trail Head go back toward Mt Hood on HWY 35 for about 7.1 miles and take a left on Forest Service Road 44 (FS 44) and continue to the top of the hill (approx 3.5 miles). Look for the trail head on the left – Signage says “Surveyors Ridge/Dog River Trail Head”. Ride the Dog River trail back to HWY 35. We’ll most likely start the race after the first (and only) major climb, making the track about 15 minutes in length for each race run.

The Vagabond is about a 30 minute drive from the trail head.

Camping: Tons of camping available within a few miles of the event. The campgrounds are basic, but are right on the river…it’s a beautiful place to spend the weekend.

Directions:

From the South Take Hwy 95 North in Coeur d’Alene (Exit #12 off of I-90)Go north for 35 miles toward Sandpoint. Cross the Long Bridge, over Lake Pend Oreille. Follow the main thorough-fare through town, and stay on Hwy 95. Turn left onto Schweitzer Cut-Off Road (corner of Burger King and the Schweitzer Conoco Station). Turn right at the “T” intersection onto North Boyer Road. Turn left at the “Welcome to Schweitzer” Sign. Follow the road up the mountain for 9 miles. Stay in the center lane and pull right in for parking

From the NorthTake Hwy 95 South from Bonners Ferry. Turn right onto Schweitzer Cut-Off Road (corner of Burger King and the Schweitzer Conoco Station). Turn right at the “T” intersection onto North Boyer Road. Turn left at the “Welcome to Schweitzer” Sign. Follow the road up the mountain for 9 miles. Stay in the center lane and pull right in for parking

From the East: Take Hwy 200 West from Hope. Turn Right on Kootenai Cutoff Road. Go straight at intersection of Kootenai Cutoff Road & HWY 95. Kootenai Cutoff Road becomes Schweitzer Cutoff Road. Turn right at the “T” intersection onto North Boyer Road. Turn left at the “Welcome to Schweitzer” Sign. Follow the road up the mountain for 9 miles. Stay in the center lane and pull right in for parking
