What does CAT I, CAT II, CAT III mean?
CAT I = Expert course. Single track with some very technical sections, jumps w/gaps, drops, and steep! Category I tracks usually double as the Pro Track at most events.
CAT II = Intermediate course single track with some technical sections, med size jumps some gaps with go arounds available. This category is for intermediate to advanced riders who are too fast for Category III, or don’t have the necessary points to move to Category I.
CAT III = Intermediate course with single track and some technical sections. Go arounds available for gap jumps. Often this will be the same track as the Cat II course. This category is for new racers who are already intermediate riders.
How do I get a usacycling license?
You may buy CAT II & CAT III onsite for $60 for adults and $30 for Jr. (Single event also available for $5)
For PRO/CAT I you can renew onsite for $60 for adults and $30 for Jr. You must bring proof of old license
(Single event NOT available for PRO/CAT I) Or go to www.usacycling.org and sign up there.
How do I become a CAT I or PRO?
You must have raced previously in CAT II for CAT I and CAT I for PRO. You must submit previous race results to rankings@usacycling.org and make a request to be upgraded. You will need at least 3 top 3 finishes or 5 top 10 finishes in previous CAT. You will have to pay $150 for PRO upgrade for UCI license.
Are my lift tickets included in my entry fees?
No, you will get a discounted ticket at the ticket window after you register.
What do I need to bring to registration?
Please bring completed release & entry form, with your 2010 usacycling license or proof of 2010 membership.
(For CAT II & CAT III single event license available onsite $5)
Where can I find the forms ahead of time?
Go to http://www.mthoodadventurepark.com/races.htm and print the appropriate forms.
Do I have to keep my number plate all year?
Yes you do, and if you lose it there is a $5 replacement charge.
How do I change my race category after I have already registered?
- To switch from one Race/Category to another, you need to login to the account that was created for you on www.cyclecomponentnetwork.com
(a password email was sent to from CCN you during initial registration, if you do not know your sign in details then click the forgot password link and the details will be emailed to you)
- Once logged in, you click on the My network tab then the My Event entries or just follow this link. http://www.cyclecomponentnetwork.com/myEvents
- You will see your entry for select race and click the option Change Race
- Select the race you wish to change to, verify your information and click Confirm Registration
The participant will then receive and email with a link to follow. This race change is not complete until the participant follows the link and completes the registration for the new category.
